    Here’s a pic I took of a RAF C17A a few years ago. It had reversed on the ramp using reverse thrusters, shed loads of noise but no blast behind… the locals got used to the noise and continued about their business. Then came the time to move forward…

    Slight prod on the throttles to get her moving, but full jetblast on those behind…

    The two green vans with the arrows were ambulances, loading casualties into the C-130, the one on the right had not applied his handbrake and ended up in the rear of the first one.

    There is a roadway starting at the guy with the yellow jacket between the ambulances and continuing to the right of the pic, what can’t be seen is the local Police pick-up (with canopy) that had been parked near this guy, but when the C17 started forward thrust, it caught the full blast and disappeared down the road with guys trying to bail out of the back of it. It was so funny!
