I know this probably sounds really weird, but my mum makes a lovely beef stew - i don't live at home - and when i try to make it myself it just doesn't taste the same - but oh my God its lovely.

My favourite comfort food though is Banana Bread - I can make this myself and its devine:o

Bananna bread is to die for. I use Blazing salads recipe, but it isn't moist enough. Love walnuts though.

    Hi Moonbaby

The banana bread recipie in the Avoca Cookbook is delicious - wasn't the best for weight watchers so I had to stop - as I would literally eat the whole cake:):)

I've just looked that up.....they seem to put more banana in. Can't but be a good thing. Looking forward to giving that a go.
    Thanks for the tip :)

Tea. I bring loose leaf tea from France (and instruct anyone going to bring some back).

also any smoothie featuring mango from Zumo.

on a really, really bad day, I get out the liquidiser, the bottle of Baileys, the bottle of butterscotch liqueur, some milk some cream and some Flake and have fill a high ball glass with "roughly" equivalent quantities of the first four having whizzed them to within an inch of their lives.

Life was much easier when it was chocolate, you know.

Mashed potatoes, sausages grilled to an inch of their lives all chopped up and mixed into the mash, baked beans, and a huge mug of strong sweet tea.

    superquinn sausages

I have to say I'm going to miss the Superquinn sausages when I go to NZ. I was only thinking about it this morning. I always have some in the freezer here, soon I won't be able to go and have them whenever I want!

I'm also worried about how much I'll miss M + S handcooked crisps and Percy Pigs.

Care packages are welcome though lay-dees!

It is mostly a North West thing.

They stopped stocking it in my local shop at home, because people aren't eating it anymore.
Its tantamount to neglect denying your offspring Boxty.
