Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chippy Brady on the champions league highlight show confirmed that he's been given the go ahead by both Trapattoni and Arsenal to be Irish Managers assistant. He'll also be keeping his position within Arsenal.

As Dunph just said, its 3 great professionals with a massive wealth of footballing knowledge who have worked together very successfully 28years ago at juventus all back together again.

Delighted, I figured he would have been a part of it, but now its pretty much a cert.

That's good to hear. I'm glad we have a major Irish name involved.

Slightly worried by that, as long as it does not impact with his Arsenal duties.

That's good to hear, he has been one of the most successful Irish coaches, deserves a spot. Hopefully this also allows him to put his methods in place in the Irish youth set-up aswell.

yea great management team now all we needs is a great football team!what are the chances of brady turning gary doherty into adabyor,or clinton morrison into a new henry?:D
nah seriously looks a good balance think it was important someone irish with a bit of footballing no how was introduced to try and motivate what is a team full of frightened rabbits (given and dunne the exceptions)

You can see Brady talking with Bill and Eamo here: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2008/0305/bradyl_av.html
One of the most heartening things Liam says is that he intends to speak to players who have retired, including Andy O'Brien and Steve Finnan, to see if they will consider returning.
With his knowledge of the Irish players from his work as a pundit, combined with his experience of working with young players at Arsenal, given the relative youth of our squad, he's a perfect candidate for assistant manager.

please god yes, if there is a god Pete Mahon will get the gig, non El/ireland football at any level, seriously he is the man for the job.

/altho i would reckon it was part of the terms of him becoming a king maker that he gets to beat his 22 game losing streak with a 23 game losing streak.

Maybe he could be replaced by Venables. :)

Whats Bradys exact role, is he Assistant Manager or Assistant to the Manager.

Either way, it's a good move for old Chippy, keeps him off the coverage.

in what way do you mean bad? They've worked well in the past, Trappa bought Brady when he managed Juventus and they were pretty successfull. Tardelli the assistant manager also played in that same team so they've all known each other for nearly 30 years.

All the talk of the Holy Trinity must mean the fourth fella confirmed is ****e...

Might as well start the campaign - Fausto Rossi out.................and John Delaney for appointing him.
