Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Shels Press release
    http://www.shelbournefc.ie/news.php?id=844
    Shelbourne v Dundalk

Shelbourne get their season off to a start by hosting Dundalk in Tolka Park on Friday (7th)
with a kick off time of 8pm.

The Reds enter this game, against one of their main rivals for promotion without the services
of a number of players, missing through injury and suspension.

Mark O’Brien misses out through a one week suspension carried over from the 2007 season.

Peter McGlynn is suffering from flu and Steven Doran from a hamstring injury, while Keith
Dunne is unlikely to feature as he only returned to training this week following a groin injury.

Alan Keely will have a fitness test before the game having suffered a hamstring injury in the
one all draw with Bohemians last Friday night.

one thing I will give Dundalk is the fact their website is, and always has been, excellent and full of info. credit where its due etc.

Drogs v Rovers live RTE 2 Sat at 5.30. Rovers have sold their 500 tickets and I believe the Drogs end is a sell out as well, so should have some bounce for the tv. If we play as well as we did when we beat them up there last year, will be a cracker for the viewing public.

Pretty sure it won some award for best EL website. Something like that anyway.

OhNoYouDidn't. any idea why Rovers let Cassidy go? He's a cracking player. Was it for footballing reasons or was it attitude problems? Didn't he play in most games last season?

Didn't manage to get a ticket for the Rovers match so our national broadcaster will have to do.

Best I can gather it was for budgetary reasons. He was certainly the one that we all raised eyebrows about being released. He was a regular, had consistantly done well and was a fan to boot. But for every player we brought in, one had to go out and he was unlucky to be axed. You have done well to get him.

Making my LoI comeback at wexford Youths tomorrow night.
The last LoI game i was at was Kilkenny City in the early 90's! Things were bad then when a wexford chap had to go to Kilkenny to support a local team. I've been abroad since then and am raring to see Wallaces fledglings, should be a big crowd and a great occasion.

Damn it, gonna miss this as i'm abroad at the moment. Sounds like it'll be a great opener. Our home form last season was shit. It'd be great to get a win.

UCD, Shams when the builders move out, or possibly even Pats.

I know. In certain circumstances a trip beyond the literally closest club may be warranted. ;)

Pigheads got a nasty feeling those annoying little cnuts who've started up "firms" will become more noticeable this season. Little 12 year olds who've watched The Football Factory and who think they're supporting their teams by throwing bricks at cars and running away giggling. Check out these spanners.

Played a 442, 433 with Ndo in the hole and a 352 during preseason so no clue what team or formation will me.

    Gonna go with

    Ryan
    Brennan O Carroll Harris Partridge
    Fahey Keane Lynch Ryan
    Quigley O neill

    Clarke
    Kirby
    Ndo
    Guy
    Fitzpatrick
    Byrne
    Haverty
    Dempsey

    **** me what a team  :D

schooligans wont be a problem NOTW reported that gardai aware of the issue and have a plan to out undercover cops at bohs and rovers only cos noone else has a problem, pats fan buses had their windows smashed in sligo last year so would expect little scummers to do the same tonight.

with city having about 1200 players to choose from tonight, it makes picking an 11 quite difficult for young mathews.

    for me i'd go with

    .................Devine................

    Horgan..Murray..Mulcahy...Danny Murphy

    George..Gamble..Healy..Kearney

    .......Mooney...Behan.....

Bench: McNulty, O'Flynn, Farrelly, O'Sullivan, Lordan

whatever way you look at it that's a strong side. one worry though would be if george does start on the right, he'll drift inside too much and leave horgan exposed at right back.. centre half is also a concern, we still haven't replaced bennett.

if mooney and behan click they'll be a formidible duo, and i cant wait to see how gamble and healy perform together in the middle, right from the word go this time

    3-1 city

George on the right is madness.

As much as I hate the guy, he is the best centre midfielder to play in the eL this decade.

He is clearly better that either Healy or Gamble.

Thought Flynn was your best striker? Was Behan not pants for half of last season?

Mulcahy :( isnt a great centre back more of all action centre midfielder, every time we played him at CB he cost us games, when he played centre mid he broke someone and we were difficult to beat.

    god i miss him :(

yeah the first half of last season. really pushed on in the second, doubled his work rate, and actually started controlling the odd pass or two..

    flynn isn't 100% yet..

Well, he is 100% unfit most of the time if thats what you mean.

Bray to frustrate us tonight. Pressure on our "manager" from the get go.

    Mathews OUT.
