Haven't really thought about it but i don't think Gerrard has performed well enough this season to earn a place. Also a little surprised with Mellberg in there.

Have to agree, i went with Brown as he has been a permanent fixture in Uniteds defence this year, and they have the best defence in the league so thats why he's there.

Maybe the bench could be but tbh ive gone with the most effective players this season in their respective positions. Also "Team of the Season" doesnt mean u pick an 11 that compliment each other, u pick based on who has played best in that position during the season.

United had a midfield of Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes - Giggs last year and it worked fine in the league.

Carrick sits deep though, and Scholes has tended towards this as his career has advanced also.

Anyway, it's pointless arguing over potential weaknesses in the team. They are all good players and it's unlikely they'll ever play together.

Fabregas was fantastic at the start of the year, and has just been his same old self the rest. The difference? He was scoring goals at the start. People forget though, midfielders like that score spats of goals, not gona be scoring non-stop all year

A lot of people have Essien in their team. Now don't get me wrong i idolise him as a midfielder but has he played enough to be in PL Team of the Season?

He started off the campaign magnificently, picking up where he left off, but he must have only featured in half the games this season and I don't remember seeing him at all since he left for ANC at the turn of the year?

Essien hasn't played as much, but for me, when he plays, he's just so amazing that I can't help but put him in, and he's played 16 games, Masch (20 games), which isn't terrible

If I had wanted your opinion on my selection I would have given it to you. And all of this from a guy who put 6 players from the second best team in the premiership in his selection :rolleyes:

Evra over Clichy? Lol not a hope. Anyway, no one keeper has stood out for me this season. Some have been good, i.e. VDS, Almunia, but none have really been great. VDS's defence have made him mlook good at times. So for that reason I'm gonna stick in young Joe Hart who has had a cracking debut year which will hopefully be topped off with a full cap.
