This cr@p comes up all the time worst accents and all that.

I´m glad I have a Louth accent, even if some people think it´s awful or whatever.....what do you want, a bland midlands accent?

Who cares what accent you have as long as it´s not put on.

Hey dont be trying to drag the midlands into it! We don't sound like the characters off pure mule(well except offaly). People form athlone have dull voices, hardly annoying? Oh and we cant pronounce "th" properly: Ah-lone for example!

I was in dundalk just after christmas and its a weird accent alright.

A rough north-donegal accent is pretty horrible imo

Do you now pronounce anything that ends in 'ing' as if it ends in 'in'? I do since I moved to Galway. (Or maybe Sligonians do this anyway?)

It depends on the part of the town really. I don't mean to generalise but the Cranmore accent is 'cah!'

    Exactly!

    *Looks for Hail* :D

Ah it depends which part you're in! Certain areas are fairly brutal.

    Ardee....by a mile

i always wondered what the gards were called.

    "Da gawdee frowm Awdee!"

Ha ha Ardee is the worst definitely follwed by the wannabe-D4.

The least sexiest for me is the thick Cork accent on women. Horrible.

Pretty much everyone in Ireland outside of Dublin sounds the same. Bogger accents are terrible.

So Cork sounds like Donegal?

I don't know or care. I try to put myself in positions where I don't have to listen to either of them. Either way, I know I hate both accents and they probably sound so similar that it doesn't matter. A country accent is a country accent.

they sound nothing like each other, have lived in the north west of ireland for almost 10 years, worked for a donegal company, with some cork customers, could never understand the cork accent,

    ;)

have since learned to love some of the ulster accents, parts of them are really sexy, talking about the accent here, although some of them using it aren't bad either

    ;)

Hearing Thai people trying to say "Limerick" is an education in what an accent is, since they can pronounce neither L's nor R's. Yemewihck is about it.

Wexford, definitely Wexford. Dundalk a close second though.

The Louth accent is awful. I thought it was just Steve Staunton that spoke like that, but most of them do

I so agree , can't stand the Louth accent. Cavan comes in second!
I think the Sligo accent is grand (work with a few from there).

would this be a county Sligo or Sligo town accent - they are very different.

Personally I think the Drogheda accent grates on me - up there with Brummie
