unless theres preconditions on your licence i dont see why not, fellas in our club practise on their own land , the local constabulary has full knowledge and doesnt have a problem.

At the moment, yes, however once section 4A of the CJA2006 is commenced, it won't be.

Is that not just for target shooters?

I thought (could be wrong here, probably am!) that non target shooters can zero in on private property.

McDowell did say he didn't include zeroing under section 4A, but zeroing's not practising. (Also, you won't get a pistol licence for hunting, only for target practise)

Right now, yes. When 4A and 4B are commenced, no, not unless it's been inspected and approved by the DoJ as a firearms shooting range. (This is assuming you're target shooting and not just hunting foxes in the quarry or some other such corner case).

thanks sparks I belive it will be the same for rifles when the cjb is inacted
you will have to have land owners permissions(on your cert)

When it's commenced ms (it's already enacted), it'll be the same for any rifle or pistol licenced for target shooting (which so far has meant all pistols licenced).
