Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am more into commodities then the general market and had been long gold and silver and energy since 04. I have recently gone to cash but started buying a few junior metals companies as that market had gone down as the commodities were going up so looked like a good value play

On the short side I started shorting Soybeans during the week as it looks like there is a top for now using a short ETF(link below) its not leveraged so the downside is limited (stop just above the high), its working so far.
I follow the COT reports and they look like they are generating sell signals for gold , oil , silver and copper over the next couple of weeks. there are inverse ETF's that have an x1 or x2 leverage on the Canadian and US exchanges that cover these. I would like to see a bottom in the dollar first as the gain would be diminished by the loss on exchange.

Not sure about shorting the Dow yet, I would like to see a bounce or a bit less bearish sentiment.

if trading I don't try to anticipate a change, I like to see a daily or weekly swing high/low and then set the stop just above/below that high/low

I am shorting the S&P 500 and have been for a few months. A x2 inverse ETF. Pity there isn't anything similar for the ISEQ.

ive got myself ina stupid position, in that i feel the market is due a further fall, but am long on a stock i fell is due a bounce. commodities are ina bull market so tough to call a top.
