NTL (UPC) broadband - WEBSPACE

Anyone know how to access NTL webspace - they allow 55mb of space but when I rang them they knew nothing about it ...

i was only looking for it earlier, couldn't find it either.

It use to be as below, don't know what it is now that it's UPC. I've never used the service myself but the details where giving to me when I had the modem first installed.
When you ring up ask to put through to broadband support(cobweb) and they should have all the details, you will need a username/password to access this service.

Web Space http://homepage.ntlworld.ie/firstname.lastname
Publish Location ftp://firstname.lastname@upload.ntlworld.ie/docs/

Have you entered your user name (instead of username)?

nothing happens http 404 not found...

are you able to directly reach a page by using your username i.e. if i typed http://members.upc.ie/your.name I would get to your login page ?

Yebbut... UPC have given me two usernames - the one that I use for my mail accounts and the one that's written on my contract. It's the one on the contract that I have to use. Your best plan is to email support and ask what your webspace URL is.

Yep, after 1 and a half hours onto NTL Broadband support they managed to give me the FTP address - but they still don't know "which username or password" I should use to access it

Is your contract name just the name on your bills? And where did you get the password - is it the same as your upc email? Thanks

The contract name is on the green sheet that you sign when the equipment is installed. Look for "User Friendly ID". It's an email address in the form joe.bloggs123@upcmail.ie. The username is joe.bloggs123 and the webspace URL is http://members.upc.ie/joe.bloggs123/
Note that in my case the "User Friendly ID" isn't my email address - it would be in the format jbloggs@upcmail.ie. When accounts switched from NTL to UPC, UPC made a cock-up of my account details so this may not apply to you. I have two webspaces - the new UPC one and the old NTL one - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/joebloggs/. I can't ftp to the old one though because the password is rejected. If memory serves, tech support told me that it's on the old NTL UK server and can't be modified although it can be viewed.

Your usermane and password is the same as your email address and password.

Hey sorry for NEcro posting but appears this was never solved or if it was no one posted a solution


Ok the servers FTP is:

[url]FTP://members.upc.ie[/url]


Your user name is:

firstname.lastname


Password:

well the default they gave me was password1

However if you use their mail service already the password be tha same as the one for it.


to acces and change the server content you will need to get some FTP client


Google it plenty free ones on the web
