Notch, drill (or something else)

I need to run a pipe across a new floor ( upstairs extension). Do I A. drill the joists B. take a notch out of the top of them C. Something else? its a 3/4" Hydrodare (cold feed for the cylinder) Thanks in advance J

Drilling in the middle of the joist (central axis) is probably the best option. Do you know how deep the joists are? span?

about 250 thick and a span of 4500ish

Can't see any problem there.
Keep 300mm+ away from the end if possible also

The diameter of the hole should not exceed 1/8th of the joist depth.

drill the joists its your best bet ,and it a nuch better job than cutting out a notch

rent an angle drill [ heavy duty] with an 1" timber auger bit U u will appreciate the comfort and speed
