Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you had to pick one song that encapsulates everything that you love about rock or metal what would it be?

For me I think this would be it:

Seriously, this song's got it all. Amazing vocals, great riffs, dueling guitar solo, obligatory ridiculous video and cheesy lyrics. All in all one of the best metal songs ever.

What would you choose? Don't name a bunch of songs, bite the bullet and narrow it down to just one.

Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac 'Oh Well'

Monstrous riff, a wig out middle bit, a sh1tload of guitars and the all important Cow bell! Sumptuous

A Million Miles away - Rory Gallagher, lyrics, guitar, emotion, will never tire of listening to it.

    Dragonforce - Cry for eternity

Look I know their showy, stupid, ridiculous, crap live and every song sounds the same. I didn't start liking metal because it was perfect. I started liking it because it makes me go wow. And I defy you not to enjoy listening to this song.

    Emperor---In the wordless chamber

As close to perfection as it gets IMHO.

Despite some of their modern atrocities, this song is still a masterpiece.

There's no such thing as a perfect song. Music is art, and there's no set amount of things it can acheive to make it 'perfect' because art transcends the need for perfection, what one person could consider a flaw, another person can consider something unique that sets the song apart.

Did you even read the thread title?

Because it says right there Perfect Songs. Are you confused about what a thread title is supposed to suggest, such as the actual content of a thread?

What a song, the most amazing uber cheesy shredding ever! Those are all the reasons I like them too.

Bland choice but Bohemian Rhapsody imo is the best song ever recorded

Bang on the money, if we get enough posts in this thread you will have thousands of "perfect songs". Perfection is a myth.
