Got this idea from the thread about Trance DJ's. What is your favorite trance track/tracks?

For me it has to be Gouryella - Ligaya. That track is just pure trance perfection.

ive given up on trance a few years ago but heres some of my favourites:

has to be my fav of all time, just listen to that bassline.

    Dreamwaver - Liquid:MM

Signum Feat. Scott Mac - Coming On Strong (Bobellow vs. Euphoriah Mix)

    ^^^
Tiesto & Junkie XL - Obsession (the only track with tiestos name worth a mention, not that he deserves much credit for the track or any of his own for that matter! Since someone else is doing all the hardwork for him and all )
Love the lush/percussive synth in it, not so loving the noisier synth in the background.

And of course some of the more obvious Proggy classics mentioned on here.

Gave up on trance really because of the high volume of crap you have to fish through to find the good stuff, i find it easier to find good techno/electronica without half the effort.

And how could i forget this gem of a track:

More along the lines of progressive house imo, great track though.

I WAS actually way into trance in the last couple years. But u know that most of this stuff came from europe and the trance sound is now pretty dead there... they are more into the "funky electro" thing -- you've probably seen those videos of those French kids dancing on youtube? Crazy...... personally I'm more into this style -- try searching for these songs:

Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor"
    Groove Cutter "My Shooter"
Control One "Just A Little Bit"
    Ian Carey "Redlight"
    Kevin Weg "Dead Radio"

Some of these actually are sort of ROCK influenced, which is cool and I can even get my older brother to listen to it..... cuz there are guitars....

You can find these tracks various places but I started with this list on itunes ( http://electricnation2010.com/ ) and worked from there.....

Leon Bolier - ocean drive boulevard, what a tune!!!

At the moment, I'm finding even more stuff that is quite good. Can't link to youtube cause of work firewall but I'll post some of these tonight.

The Wildchild Experience - Bring it on down
    Bart Claessen - First Light
Lustral - When my satellite falls (Terry Bones/Karen Overton Bootleg Mix)
Miss Shiva - Dreams (Cosmic Gate Remix)
    Fridge - Angel
Tiesto ft Jes - Everything (yes its actually good! :D)

Will you cheesemongers ever go and get a life !
3 pages of postings, 3 pages and i'd say there's maybe 2 half descent tunes mentioned: Terra Ferma - Lunar Sunrise
    Clanger - Seadog
    Pathetic !

ps Tiesto is a 3 chord turdburger !

There are several great tracks mentioned. You have just picked two that you happen to like. Don't see what is cheesy or pathetic about LSG, Paragliders, Humate, Mijks Magic Marble Box, Country & Western, Dance 2 Trance, Microglobe, the Jeyenne to name a few

tiestos a cheeseball, and modern trance sucks

terra ferma - lunar sunrise was a class tune though.

remember the first time i heard it.

think it was kiss where they played 2 tracks by the one artist, this is yeeeeears ago, and they played floating and lunar sunrise.

    great tracks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,960 ✭✭✭DarkJager

Modern trance sucks?? Honestly man either you're missing the tunes or just stuck in the 90's! :D

Look at the likes of Simon Patterson, Super8 & Tab, Ferry Corsten etc....the majority of their recent releases have been top class tunes (especially in the case of Super8 who just keeps getting better and better). If anything, Trance has established some serious quality control.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,528 ✭✭✭copeyhagen

everyone u mentioned is a cheeseball.

    trance is garbage.

ferry corsten - one good song, punk. gz

i used to like some trance, bought a load of vinyl when i first started out, just got sick of it very quick.

i liked darren tates stuff, dt8, some other stuff but i prefer tech house, minimal, prog, techno.

its a matter of taste, one mans **** is another mans caviar and all that
