Are the people who have been throttled mostly on the 8Mbit lines?

The BT Uk caps are bizarre... 5GB, 8GB, and... unlimited! lol

It's ridiculous. Especially as BT's UK parent company (Also BT: British Telecom!!!) offers NO download limit to their users who are on the same "Option 3" broadband plan as me here in Ireland![

larkapal, BT's option 3 in the UK has a Fair Usage Policy, http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_faqid=10495&cat_lvl1=346&p_cv=1.346&p_cats=346

So while its unlimited its actually "unlimited*", so if your do 100GB's a month they will do something about it, they also speed throttle many of there users at peak times even if they just hit 50GB.....with speed thottles BB isn't as usable for many applications.

Unfortunately due to the current business model used by ISP's its basically impossible for an ISP to offer a truly unlimited package in the long term.

UK BT users don't have it as good as you seem to believe http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=743763

May I suggest you do research in future.
