The Bar thread in BGRH has 76k+ posts.

This thread in Poker has 34k+ posts.

Why does this thread, or any thread in Soccer, have to close at 10k posts?

Can the mods re-ask CuLT if it needs to be the case?

I think GY said after the merge that we'd have to start a new one after 10k.

Even though I've left my job, OT has gotten me through many fridays!

Might be wrong, but I seem to rememer the old Liverpool thread was what started it. That was probably around before the Poker & BGRH threads though, maybe it's not the case anymore.

As much as anything i think the limit on the superthreads was just to have a bit of a gap between seasons rather then an imperative on the DB load (though that doesn't hurt id imagine). Could see this one keeping going as theres no natural gap to make a fresh start as there is between seasons in the football ones. If we were gonna start again, would've made more sense to just stick with the daughter thread.

Also I think there have always been plenty of threads over the 10k amount, eg this one http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=246970 which has been going since 2004
