Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Itll be hard to top Croatia Turkey in fairness. But it should be. Love to see Russia win, from an underdog perspective but at the same time Id be delighted for Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta if Spain win.

If you do that Al, don't bother coming to the Beers in August. It wouldn't be worth it.

    I won't have a hangover.

I drink proper beer, not mass produced, chemical-filled, hangover inducing crap.

    Tyskie from Poland.

    Staraproman from Czechoslovakia.

Any of the Eastern European Beers really.

Stay away from American "beers". They are produced for a massive market and contain chemicals that speed up the brewing process. Not good.

Stay away from the likes of Carlsberg and Heineken too, they aren't the same as the ones you get on the continent, as they are brewed here, under licence. And are shít.

Try the Weissbiers fom Germany, Erdinger, Paulaner, them things.

My favourite beer is Leffe from Belgium. Tasty goodness.

Check out the Beer forum, which I'm the mod of, there are some really good guys in there who know their beers.

I am still at the stage of the 6 cheap Bavarias before the nightclub hence the awful overhangs :(

    I do like Erdinger.

What about Grolsch, I am fond of that.

I had a mean pint of Zlaty Bazant in the czech inn the other day.

Staropramen is the greatest beer known to man though. Just cannot beat the pilzner.

    That and the sneaky naggin.

God I hate Irelands nightlife. Clubs abroad are so much better, cheaper, open later and generally more fun...as long as theyre full of Irish for the craic...... and hot European women!!

Yeah it's quality havin clubs open til 5 over here, especially seeing as I live 5 mins stumbling distance from our Friday night spot.

Yea the clubs in London/Thailand/Greece/Prague/Spain etc are so much better because those places dont have nanny licencing laws.

Now theyre tryin to close us up at half 1, whats next eh Genius. People will just drink in the damned park again. If they were open till 6 people would just go straight home. Havin them close earlier encourages loitering.....Alcohol Recommendation Committee my arse :rolleyes:

Where do you frequent on a friday. Its a while since I was there but I remember northbridge being the epicentre of social activity.

Well Friday night I usually stay up north where I live in Joondalup.

If I've no football on Sunday then I'll hit Northbridge. Usually end up in either The Shed, The Deen or Paramount. All good spots. Odd time might go to the Elephant & Wheelbarrow, or MILF Central as it's otherwise known.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Amen to the Elephant! All quality spots but I loved The Shed. Mustangs had its charms too.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 18,115 ✭✭✭✭ShiverinEskimo

Aye I loved the shed - incidentally it was a year ago that I celebrated my Birthday there. It was my birthday there on Tuesday and I was sad thinking of all the memories. Sniff. Sniff.

Just back from my first game of 5 a side here. Getting used to the heat was tough.

    Pro tips;

    Drink water
    Take turnes in goal

    Phew.

I don't know what the f*ck you two guys are talking about.

    Perth =

Mon = The Deen (cheap + pool comp)
Tue = Black Bettys (cheap with a hostel)
Wed = Rosie O'Gradys (cheap food)
    Thur = Mustang
Fri = Balck Bettys (cheap with a hostel)
Sat = Anywhere (normally party in hostel)
Sat = Rosie O'Gradys (cheap food + GAA)

I may have gotten one or two of the days mixed up, but it was something like that for me anyway.

You only ate twice aweek! :pac: ;)

I know that was a joke. But there were days that I wouldn't eat. I remember once I had gone two days without eating already and my mates had to force me to have something. Dunno why it was just a mixture of not being able to afford anything nice, to not having the energy to go shopping, being too lazy to cook and the amount of hangovers that were just being rolled together.

Still drank (nearly) every night though. :)

I do not or never have a had an eating disorder.

Black Betty's is a hole to be fair!

I avoid Rosie's like the plague. If I wanted to hang around with Irish people I'd be living in Ireland!
