Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My liver resembles larry haggmans first one.
No point in trying to look after it at this stage!

Was out in Galway last night and guess who was in the night club, none other than Shay Given! The reason we were out was because it was my mates birthday and he is a huge Newcastle fan and fair play to Shay I went up and asked him would he mind getting his photo taken with my mate as he was a huge fan and it was his birthday and he duly obliged. My mate was over the moon.

    Small world ill tell you.
5 of my mates were drinking with him in some pub in eyre square for an hour saturday night.
He told them that robbie keane to liverpool was practically a done deal and that he will sign by the end of this week.
Dunno if he was just spoofing them or not but he seemed genuine and friendly so heres hoping!

Pigheads great thanks Sherifu. Thank for asking. Played pool with the old fella on Saturday night and beat him 6-0, dedicated the win to the Snooker ad Pool forum but nobody in the pub had a clue what I was banging on about. Shame really as that place could really do with some more traffic.

Bit of a pool shark are you Pighead? :)

Haven't played pool in a while, great game to pass an evening.

Wonderful game Sherifu and oft misrepresented in the mass media. "A game for thugs and lowlifes" the tabloids scream when in reality it's a cunning game of strategy skill accuracy and mental fortitude, a bit liek battleship. Tabloid writers are rubbish at pool which is probably why they hate it.

Ah excellent must try that. Does it have to be in capital letters or is that just for emphasis. Can you do this in real life. Is it just to e used in arguments or can you use it for everyday occurences. Example: Pighead had a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes this morning followed by a bowl of Alpen. FACT.

And what about if you use FACT but you are then found out to be wrong about the stated fact, are you banned from using it ever again. Anyway thats enough questions fro now. FACT.

    good work pighead.

dont worry about the caps or anything, just be sure there is a fullstop at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Maybe Pighead should be more concerned with the eL form guide rather than nit picking at Mr. Alan. He's fallen a loooong way behind first in the predictions league.

Great stuff, thanks for the advice. Fact.

By the way Pighead would definitely beat Mr Alan in pool. Fact.

 What happens now? You and Pighead have both stated fact over the outcome of a pool match yet we have two differing views on said outcome.

Xavi, Xavi, Xavi. As the old eircom prediction league saying goes "They don't hand out prizes of €250, generally donated by MrJoeSoap, out in July.

It's a long hard season and most of you lot have peaked way too early. Pighead sees himself as a Roger Federer type character. Looks down and out after the first couple of sets but then like a true champion heroically drags himself back into the match and with sheer determination and force of will beats his long haired Spanish opponent to the cheers and whoops of his adoring fans.

Cracking tennis yesterday wasn't it. Missed the last couple of games but it was pretty ovious the champ was about to wrap things up against that grease ball pretender to the throne.

    Good Morning Peeps.

Recommended - Weekend in An Daingean.

Not Recommended - The drive there and back in monsoon conditions.

Morning chaps.. Day off today before my new job tomorrow. What the fcuk is the go with a company asking for a copy of my Degree certificate?? A mate told me about it recently but i though he was joking.

Have to go to the ol dentist today. First trip in a long time so it's not going to be pretty.. Going to Crossmaglen to the dentist so at least it should be half the price that they charge down here.

Pleasently surprised to still be top of the EL predictions table, but as my wingman Pighead says "no prizes given out in July". Would be doing much better only a certain team in Div 1 keeps letting me down with my predictions.....

Not Recommended - The drive there and back in monsoon conditions.

Was in Killarney a couple of weekend ago, we flew to Faranfore for €75 return with Aer Arann, only a tenner more expensive than a train would have been.

Highly recommend Kerry lads, and at that price, the plane is the only option.

Must be the case. But i asked could they not just have the Uni reissue it to them and they said no, probably cause Queens charge £30 for a copy of it....

Still a pain in the arse..

Only trouble with flying is that you really need a car down that end of the country to get the best out of it. That or your faced with buses and their schedules.

Total fuel spend for 700 miles of a trip was 168 euro spread between 4 people. So 42 euro got you down there and around there. But obviously it took 6 hours or so each way excluding stops to get to Dingle so the bulk of 2 of your days is spent getting to/from there.

A bus meets you at Faranfore, nowhere you'd be staying is more than an hour from it tbh.

Also, doing the Ring Of Kerry (that sounds like a porno :pac:) I'd much rather be in a bus looking at the views etc, than driving a car looking at the road.

Yeah, a six hour drive, or an extra thirty euro or so traveling expenses. A no-brainer tbh.

Fair enough but I like the freedom of the car - being able to do your own thing in comfort in your own time. Also means that you can stop where you want for as long as you want. And besides - only one of us was driving at once - we all took turns and stopped when there was a nice view to stop at. We could also skip certain bits we weren't interested in.

For a guy from North Dublin maybe - but I'd also have to get to Dublin Airport too so I'm already in the car sure.

And the 30 euro extra is just for your flight - any bus tours you get when you're there will be around 20 to 30 euro each too. So for the added comfort, flexibility and cheaper cost I don't mind trading it off for the added journey time.

40 min flight + 1 hour check in + 1 hour travel to airport + 20 mins getting bags and finding bus +1 hour (min) bus to Dingle = 4 hours and no car there to do as you please and €75

    Vs.

6 hours in the car (5 for you as you're in Dublin) and 33 quid extra in my pocket and free to do my own thing in my own time thus avoiding bus fulls of American teenagers.
