    TIP:
Take pictures of your car just after you buy it. Then use these when you're selling. People will think, wow looks great for an '03. But they don't realize the pics are four years old.

Thats cold very cold :D , but highly logical :D i like it!!

Hey guys, reason why I am writing this is because of all the different prices I am seeing.

I am selling a Ford Fiesta Ghia (old model) 2002. Just NCT'd today good till March 2010. Bit of rust on back, nothing major. I am seeing prices ranging from 3,500 to 5,500. How much is it actually worth???

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,000 ✭✭✭Cionád

If you want to sell it, price it low. Many of those high priced cars will never get inquiries, and carzone prices are generally inflated.

I'd say price it for 3,750 but prepare to settle for 3,500, That's if you want it to sell.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,892 ✭✭✭✭listermint

I would say 3500-4000 range depending on this "rust". For quick sale lower the price. simple..

We are trying to sell this car.
    http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/Renault/Megane/Monaco/927874/

Any ideas how the possibilities can be improved? I know it's gone a few miles, but there must still be a possibility to sell this car!?

Please give me some comments! Thank you

A new one of these starts at €23,700 & you are selling at €15,500.
Thats quite a drop. I'm surprised people aren't biting!

15,500 is an absolute bargain. I'm sure there'll be calls.

Unfortunately when you go down the renault road its a tough one to get out of. No one really wants to take them off you save the dealers themselves but they will give you nothing back for your original purchase. My mate works for Renault and he says he definitely wouldnt by one.

Your best option is to advertise it everywhere and take ALOT more pics all angles. people love pics! Also emphasise insurance cost and mpg and that sort of jazz.

Unfortunately not. The car has been for sale for six months. I dont know what to do.....!

I know it's not a great time to be selling but I am looking for any opinions if I would sell quicker in Dublin where the inlaws are.

I think the price is pretty OK if you allow for a bit of haggle room.

    Cheers

Ive put the car on carzone and buy and sell and have been reducing the price over the last few weeks but have still yet to receive even a call about it. The car is one of the cheaper ones on there but still havent sold it any ideas?

I'm in the same position as you with my car. 6 months has passed and I cannot shift it so I just decided to keep it.

you don't need to give a reason for sale unless someone asks you... instead just fill in as much info as you can... FSH etc.

And I'd say get some better photos

the ad looks ok - if you look at the ad I just posted you can compare photos etc. Prob just want to establish that you're not trying to hide anything in the photos, which I don't think you are.

Reckon everyone just has to wait it out. Just like the buyers it seems..! :(

3k for a 10 year old Almera?, I payed that for a 7 year old one three years ago.

He's dreamin' at that price tbh.

Suppose so.. It's spotless though and drives perfectly - just would be a shame to give it away. :(

Doubt too many people will be jumping onto carzone though to find their dream-car, a 1998 Almera!! I do like his ad though :D
