The dentist's premises beside the old L+N is looking very smart.

Seen that, is it the same guy working from it?

Yes, I was in there during the week. A workman was using a kango to drill through a wall, anyone outside would think it was the dentist. :D

PP gone in on the Monday just gone (23rd) for Private Members Club/Casino to be turned back into previously granted use of Pub/Restaurant like Tex-Mex was I think.

It's from owner of building on Flemington House on corner of Brown St./College St.

    Five weeks to object.

    Here's the skinny > http://www.eplanning.ie/CarlowCC/AppFileRefDetails/17303/0

Decision due date of Sunday the 17th of December.

If it gets approval, with Figtree Ltd. (Mimosas) expanding and, if the Med/Brasserie 15 reopens (€550k AMV) from top to bottom of College St. it'll become a little Lwr. Tullow St. with Irishmans & Carpe Diem at the end.

Money in alcohol and food for sure; this can be seen with Pimentos and Boneyard and Cava Gastro Pub too.

Does anyone know what has happened to Meridian Motors? They've closed up pretty quickly. All stock has been cleared from the forecourt and I don't see any notice to say that they've moved premises.

Seen the owner on Wednesday parking a land rover ar the pharmacy and running back down to the garage. When I went back to the doe centre a few hours later there was no cars left. And a few people standing at the gate with clip boards with the owner.

Always thought he got very big (expensive stock) very quickly. All flash no substance or reputation.
Likely a finance deck of cards that's collapsed and the banks have rolled in. Could easily be a few million in stock there and with the huge drop in sterling may have been caught. Pity anyone bought a car there with warranty or repair issues.
    http://www.meridianmotors.ie/ website still up.

Hadn't Bill Cullen something to do with this place?

I see he's only left a VW golf mkIV and one of those display ramps. It must have been some operation moving all those cars he must have had near 100 in stock.

Restaurant shut down a few weeks ago I think but no idea about the pub

They've no social media presence currently; I only found a review with Pet Sitters Ireland; they linked to their page and it came up as this Content isn't Available at this moment message.

Crikey like; good few pound would've gone into that place and an awful lot of time; they seemed to've spent guts of two years after purchase on it I think?

Fair play to them for trying something different but I guess people are voting with their feet and sticking to Dinn Rí carvery.

If pubs in Carlow want to improve trade they should start by banning people from standing in the doorway smoking. Build a f*cking smoking area out the back or something. It look terrible.

I found it a bit expensive for what I got, even though it was pretty nice. It must be a few years ago now, I haven't been back.

Went to Bella Vitae for grub on Sunday and was very impressed with it, usually we would go to Dinn Ri as was fast with little kids in tow but will definitely back to them again and not far off the prices from Dinn Ri if not a little cheaper when looking at the 2 courses for €12 lunch deal.

I doubt it. Usually when these things go belly up, that's it! The leaflets were dropped around the past few weeks and they probably only got around to delivering to your house.
According to KCLR news, phone calls were going unanswered. Never a great sign.

The med bar and Brasserie 15 still sitting there I can't see Cava being snapped up anytime soon. Someone is gonna take a big hit on that investment they must've spent a fortune on the refurb.

What are they building at the Killeshin rd roundabout just beside Fruithill Manor. It looks suspiciously like a halting site or at least with 2 small buildings and plenty of parking space it's an odd set up.

I'd suspect you're right and I see they've done similar on the Athy rd.

They're not houses though. They look more along the lines of a halting site set up. Small utilities building with Kitchen/bathroom. Also there is certainly a lot of hard core gone down with I would imagine tarmac not far behind. I'd be curious if it is a breach of planning if this is the case. That new road has certainly opened up a can of worms either way. I see the illegal halting site at the top is still there and not a word said about the pyre they've built for the rubbish.

it's similar to what was at the site at the lidl road roundabout for the last few years, now there's an enormous house being built there.
