Just finished a book called "A Memory of Running" (If you're looking for a decent book that includes cycling in the storyline this is for you!) which got me thinking about doing a solo cycle around the country. I won't be able to go until September but thought I might as well do some planning now as well as get some sponsorship. (I'm not doing it primarily for charity but I figure why not make some cash for a good cause while I'm at it!)

Anyone have any tips, links, suggestions? Never done anything more than a few cycles out to Blessington/Wicklow Way etc so would appreciate any advice!

Interesting site but I'd be looking to do it solo, starting and finishing in Dublin. Also looking for advice on how to set up the bike (or if a Trek 1000 is even suitable...) seeing as the only carrying storage capacity on it currently is my saddle pouch!
