Any thing happening in the West of Ireland this weekend

Looking for some sort of child friendly event in the West of Ireland this Weekend (St Patrick's). Somewhere around Roscommon, Athlone but would possibly go as far as Galway. Any kind of event would do that would keep an eight year old entertained for approx 2 hours. I havent hear anything this year about any parades…
