Doing the L.C. this year nd really want to get into UCD next year to do the BComm.

Anyone doing the bComm in UCD - is it a good course? Is it enjoyable?

Also - last year it was 455 points, yet they usually pluck people that got higher points (because its a competitve course), so how many points did the average BCommer get last August?

    I do B. Comm.

If you have an interest in business its a great course. It's very general for the first 2 years, so you get a feel for all aspects, and then you get to specialise in 3rd year.

    I enjoy it.

What do you mean about the points? 455 means the last person who got in had 455 points. If there is 300 places then the top 300 people with the highests points get it. You should check the CAO handbook I think it tells the average as well in there. Or try www.qualifax.ie I am pretty sure that gives the average.

One crucial piece of advice for anyone doing the Bcomm is that the Dell laptop offer is extremely bad value. Having on site repair is very useful, and the quinn school will be reluctant to support macs, but you can save over €1000 euro by sourcing the laptop yourself

perhaps the disparity has been reduced since my day but in Sept 05 the quinn school was recommended the dell latitude D600 for 2k when similar spec'd machines could be picked up for between 6-800.

Now I got a laptop last week thats top notch and I paid 320. It has more ram and a bigger hard drive than the D630 thats going for a discounted price of 1265.

UCD should be ashamed of itselves plugging these "student deals"

And it doesn't take a second to be mannerly, but you never seem to manage that.

€320? Can you show me where you bought that and the spec? It doesn't count if you know someone who works in dell or if you used a voucher etc. I'm not saying that they are good, or even fair, offers - I'm simply saying it is misleading to say you can easily save €1000 or more. I'm also holding back from laughing out load when you say oyu got a top notch laptop for 320; that wouldn't even get you a top notch laptop screen!
