Unformatting a memory card

    Does anyone know how to unformat a memory card on a camera?

    I used the memory card in my digital camera, after the pictures being taken on another, no problem theree uploading them onto my computer. But when I gave the memory card back to my mate who tryed it in his camera (the one which the pictures had been taken on) it said the memory card needs to be un-formatted.
