Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Had my laptop about 6 months and it has got so slow recently. When I start it up Ihave to wait ages before Ican open explorer. Also when I try to play a game ill click on the shortcut and the small title screen comes up and nothing happens. Its not the game because its happening with both the games I have and Ive played them both beofre on this laptop. What would have caused this? Im using Vista. Its doing my head in!!

More of a Windows problem than a specific laptop problem.

    Moved from Laptops.

From a shut down to a reboot to desktop vista averages about 5 minutes on most machines.

If you're running slowly though theres a few things you can try:

run the defrag tool: go to the start bar, type 'defrag' and Enter. Run the tool. It will take a few hours so do it overnight.

You can also run 'msconfig' and select which services/processes run when windows start up. I reccomend caution doing this if youre a novice user but as long as you stay away from the majority of the windows based items you should be fine.

You should also install and run Spybot Search & Destroy as its likely you picked up something from your internet browsing. For secure internet browsing I highly reccomend Firefox, with the plug-ins NoScript and Adblock Plus.

Okay thanks for the help. There is some problem because I just started up there and I am on windows explorer here with nothing else open and I opened the control pannel and its stalled. I opened it again and when I click on programs and features it took ages for it to actually open
