How do I dial an Orange mobile from the U.S?

I'm trying to dial an Orange mobile number in Northern Ireland from the U.S. and am having absolutely no luck getting through. The telephone company here is no help, either. Their best efforts got me a lady in Wiltshire, England twice! (She was very gracious.)

The number as given to me is 078-54XX-XXXX. I understand that is how it would be dialed from within its coverage territory, and that other codes are required for outside Northern Ireland.

I looked at www.ukphoneinfo.com/search/Phones/oftel_code_78.html and learned 7854 is the "find me anywhere" range for Orange.

I've tried dialling all kinds of combinations from here in the U.S, for example:
011-44-7854-XXXXXX, 011-28-7854-XXXXXX, 011-44-28-7854-XXXXXX and many others, but none work.

I'd be grateful for any help.

I'd suggest you get the person you are trying to call to contact Orange and ask them to investigate.

It sounds like some network along the route is blocking / barring the connection.

011 44 7XXXXXXXX should get you through no problem.

Have you any difficulty getting through to any other UK mobile numbers?
