This is a bit of a rant but I have to get it out of the system while it's hot.

To cut a long story short, my son was referred to an specialist in Temple St. After being given a date in early April (that was last Feb) they ring us today to tell us the doctor is going away on holidays and won't be there, will the 26th of June be OK for you? What? We brought our son to the GP about this illness in January and this means we will be waiting for SIX months before anyone can see him and tell us what's wrong with him (standard tests didn't show anything out of the ordinary).
Sooo, we ask if anything can be done about it and they say, I'm quoting "Will you look at that, there's a slot tomorrow afternoon" As I'm up to my eyes at work my wife has to re-arrange meetings and all of her working day. At this point I've already asked my boss for a few hours in case she can't re-arrange. We ring back to confirm but there's no answer. Between me and my wife we ring 12 times through different numbers and extension numbers. Finally, somebody answers the phone to my wife and she says: "Doctor C.... won't be here tomorrow. He changed his mind"
My wife is livid, she explains all we had to do to bring our son to hospital tomorrow and the other person says: "Oh you're very good but no, he won't be here"

These idiots obviously have something better to do than working during business hours.

    Fckuing moron!

Can you write a complaint to the hospital?

Can you see a different consultant?

This is in fact the second consultant we try to see cause the other one was too busy apparently.

Yeah, I'm drafting a stinker of a complain to the hospital but I seriously doubt it'll change anything.

See if you can get a copy of their patients charter and if they have contravened it and point out where in your letter.
