Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Since nobody else has started a thread on tonighs game ill do it, this will be a test for united, they have to start putting away the chances they are creating or the season will end in misery. bolton on the other hand are fighting for their premiership careers and know that a win tonght or even a point will be hugely good for morale. this should be an interesting encounter

    Squads:

    Man Utd

Foster, Kuszczak, Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Nani, Rooney, Tevez, Scholes, Giggs, O'Shea, Saha, Anderson, Park, Pique, Heaton.

VDS is defo out, and Foster looks like he might be set to keep his place

    Bolton

Al Habsi, Nolan, Davies, Taylor, Diouf, Gardner, Campo, A O'Brien, McCann, Steinsson, Hunt, Samuel, Meite, Cahill, Giannakopoulos, Helguson, J O'Brien, Rasiak, Cohen, Walker.

Nolan and Cahill are doubts for Bolton but Joey O Brien has had some good form of late and could frustrate United

Id say a fairly comfy win on the cards for United. Bolton were rubbish last weekend despite knocking themselves out of the Uefa cup with 'that teamsheet'.

IMO After pulling a stunt like that on their fans, they deserve everything they get and I hope they go down.

Still love if they win tonight though ;)

Jaaskelainen out too for the rest of the season....and that is a huge blow for Bolton.

Carrick has to start for Utd tonight and against Liverpool. If not it's grossly unfair on the lad.

    My XI:

    Foster

Brown Ferdinand Vidic O'Shea(rest Evra for Liverpool)

    Ronaldo Carrick Hargreaves Park

    Tevez Rooney

    Utd 3 - 0.

UTD 1 or 2 nil. Bolton are still our bogey team.

  • Registered Users Posts: 104 ✭✭smok

Carrick and Scholes to start against Liverpool I think. The blend of these two is perfect - Scholes likes to have a man near to receive a pass and make space.
Rest tevez tonite and start Saha. He should be well suited to a team like Bolton I feel.
So 2 of fletcher Hargreaves and Anderson to start.

    Foster
    Brown Rio Vidic O'Shea
    Ronaldo Fletcher Hargreaves Nani
    Rooney
    Saha

It's a good enough team to beat Bolton. And also, what's the point in having squad players (such as Fletcher, Pique) if you're not going to use them against these sort of teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 631 ✭✭✭andrewie

Terrible team.. Fletcher at right back?! No Rio in the squad for second game in a row. Pique made the mistake which led to Anelka's goal in the 1-0 loss at the Reebok and Saha starting?

    What is Fergie at.

    Bolton to win 2-0.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,049 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

That team should still be capable of beating a weak Bolton team. I am not overly concerned.

LOL be serious. It's Bolton not Barcelona.

It's a good enough team to get the result required. Feel a bit sorry for Foster since he's missing out but it's a team that should get the job done comfortably enough.

Our defence gets 50% worse without just Rio, but with tonights line up I am very worried

Ill go out on a limb here, if Bolton beat United tonight liverpool will win the league :D

Shut up, ive a tenner on us to win it and Torres top scorer. It returns €2430

That line up might be worth betting against in a Bolton +2 sort of way.

So I take it they were singing it ironically or have they just blatantly copied the song ? What are the words to the utd version ?

    From an Arsenal fan:

I must admit Ronaldo is some player, absoulety class and great to see in the premiership, would be a shame to see him head Spain if Barca or Madrid came calling.

However, as an opposing fan there must be a sting in the tail and say where would Utd get there winning goals from if Ronaldo was injured.
The game against Derby and tonight he carries the team and deserves to be captain

I wonder if ronnie will manage to beat RVNs goal haul?

It was right after the first goal and it was quite loud so seriously doubt it was Bolton singing it. This is the song Im talking about.

You seem to have over estimated madrids pullling power mate, this isnt the same club that wooed zizu n figo, all they got now are players who are past there best like rvn and raul and i don't fancy ronaldo would be too chuffed to go to a team that hasn't seen the cl quarter finals in 4 years.

True, but he is from the continent and they are attracted to those two clubs and pay a hefty wage. Plus the weather is better... ;)

2046: Ashley Cole should be off. Sorry. But that is a fact. He piles in on Alan Hutton, catching him half-way up his shin. Unbelievable. What is worse is that he's complaining about getting a yellow card.

Graham Roberts on SSN winced at this tackle

    anyone see it?
