From what I hear, real sword are great, lots of steel parts, great quality, but pricey.

Hope they do a psg1 style auto cock, then fire gearbox.

would not call the real swords pricey 100usd cheaper than vfc for example and there simply the best ak47 you can get, it believe that the receivers and a load of the stamped parts are made in the same factory as the real thing, but there simple a great item worth every penny

Was thinking of the type 87 price tag :D

Yep, rumor is alot of the machines used are the real job to stamp out parts, but they take steps so they are far from usable for real.

I hope its a psg1 type gearbox, fire, then recock, with a crisp trigger.

I assume you have not seen the Escort SVD? :D

It's externally powered which means no gas gun drawbacks AT ALL, it's VERY consistant. The G&P has an internal reservoir which is one of the reasons as to why it's so bad.

im well aware of the escort aeg :) researched most of the ones on the market as i;ve wanted one for some time, and its and excellent bit of kit, i did not believe that the escort was co2 powered thought as that would be the only way to really limit the temp effect on gas and such, but for cost/reward, i choose to wait for the real sword, and you still limited to 1j where as i find the gas snipers excel primarly above this, and escort where about to limit the power to 1j with no problems?

You can run the Escort on whatever you want really - CO2, HPA. I'll be using HPA for the main reason that it's free, and very consistant. With a regulator you can just change the fps at the turn of a knob, from 100-700 (Not sure what it will go to exactly), so it's great if attending international games e.t.c.

They take 5-6months to build unfortunetly, but even though I just ordered a Real Sword AK, I may quickly cancel. An AtoZ one has come available that I like and may just use it until the end of the year.

An AEG SVD would just be...... Unsatisfying?

well its depends on what your after :) for be the convenience of a aeg svd is great for me, for me the power available to be for the escort is unneeded for Ireland, if the quality of the real swords carry on as they have been then the finish will be excellent and to be that is more important than performance at that level.

for me all aeg and gbb are unsatisfying there unrealistic in most regards to operation so i go for other things

I hope they do a polymer one too.

Any word on how the gearbox operates?

    Standard or pre-cock?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,778 ✭✭✭Sod'o swords

    Finally a SVD that doesn't cost 2 grand (hopefully):D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

no confirmed news on the gearbox, real sword already have gbb sniper/dmr coming out so that is an option, a translation of some info pointed towards a 'semi auto non electric' but the translation may not be correct.

From the picture of the gearbox in my original post it looks like electric or a co2 style cartridge gearbox.

    But no really concrete info.

I must have it...I WILL have it lol

It looks like the hop is part of the GB?

See the shape of it, towards the front, that looks like a feed tube for the mag.

Would that mean something about the mechanism?

And that looks like an ak style caged motor, a co2 capsule would be awkward to put there.

The psg1 isn't the only pre-cocked gearbox so I'm hoping this is too.

i have to agree that to me the gearbox in the picture looks like a aeg version, a redesigned v3, which is not much for real sword, come on they redesigned the v3 already for the normal ak just to make the dimensions on the receiver closer to the real thing,

i would love ag for ease of use reliability etc etc but i would love a co2 gbb for realism and fun factor, but im still after a king arms or atpz for the silent factor :( pitty you can not get them for love nor money

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

If its aeg, and around 500$ I may get one, over that and I really can't justify it to myself :D

Its so tempting though given real swords quality and value for money.

Edit: I really shouldn't though I've spent alot on airsoft lately :(
