Cycling Routes and National Roads...

    Hi all,

I was driving from Castlegregory the other day into Tralee, on the way home from a weekend down there and spotted a very strange cycle lane.

Firstly this road, despite being very narrow, is a national road as it is the main one to Dingle also.

Secondly the cycle lane was symbolized by the usual cycle symbol placed inside the yellow line marking the edge of the road. I'd say the lane was about 2 feet across...not much margin for error there when trucks and buses regularly go by at 60mph!

It looked like the worst attempt at a cycle land ever...just a pure afterthought, possibly illegal and definitely unsafe.
