    Hello arnhem44,

Thanks for posting the pictures of the eagle, and yes it does make a good display, but as you guessed it is not an original piece. I suspect it may be a cast from a cast copy. There seems to be quite a lot of pitting from casting on the front, and the markings on the reverse are a poor copy of the genuine APAG ones.

Still, it looks quite impressive on display... I would like to know where you purchased this one as I'm afraid I will never be able to afford an original one myself, so aside from ordering one from England and incurring the additional huge shipping charge, if one was available in Ireland I would be very interested. ;)

Hi Dan,i'm afraid i've only ever seen two myself, one on ebay which had the bottom cracked off and the other one on specialistauctions.com where i bought this one,i did have a look earlier and he does have one in "bronze" for silly money(£600+) and also one in alloy(no price mentioned),he also has a lee enfield training rifle which i haven't seen before,if your interested his user name is paul2zero

    Thanks arnhem44,

I had a look... I don't think much of the bronze one at that price! I wonder is he purposely not showing the reverse?!! :p

    Cheers for that!

It looks to me like it has been cleaned. Pity he didn't show any pictures of the markings.
