XDCAM EX1HD - editing camera files

Anyone know what spec pc can handle these MPEG4 files which recorded on this XDCAM? Whilst playing back these files in my XDCAM clip browser they are jumping and stuttering. I've copied the files to my hard drive but still get stuttering! I've a Quad core 2.4ghz, 512 nVidia 8800gts and 4 gigs of ram, 500gig HDD. Any help…

that should be more than enough. the minimum it needs is 2gigs of ram.
im logging and cutting it fine on an old g5 running 1.8ghz and 1.5 ghz of ram.
not sure about a p.c though.
