Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have to say I am surprised there is no "Essential guide of what to bring on backpacker holidays" thread!

Anyway, my friend is off to Thailand, NZ, Australia for three months and while she is away it will be her birthday. So I want to give her a good travel present to bring with her. I was thinking as an Irish pastey person she might appreciate one of those hand held fans for when it's omg hot. And then maybe a travel diary...?

Any other suggestions from those who have traveled and missed out on bringing something essential or who had something they couldn't have lived without?

    Thanks,
    Jess

A travel diary is a good idea. Even one of those moleskin diaries and you can stick a personal message in it so that shes not laden down with unnecessary stuff like photo frames!
