Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah you will need to prove you are returning to Ireland after your J1 visa expires. I had a mate who was in his final year and he just presented a signed letter from his employer that he had a job to come back to after the summer. So if you are working just asked your employer to type up a letter on headed paper stating that they will keep you position open regardless of whether you'll return to work there or not. Or just apply for your masters if not too late and defer it for a year. If you don't bring any proof they'll aparently reject you on the spot.

I don't think you can defer a masters for a year if you get offered a place?

I've a mate who's going traveling with me who is defering his masters until next year in DCU. Well i'm guessing it's his masters. He's already done 4 years in Trinity and he's not taking another subject. It's worth checking out if it's an option.

The easiest thing you could do is just to ask someone you know to write you a letter offering you a job starting next September/October

It would have to be headed paper. So just do something up in Word with contact details and such if he doesn't have any. I reckon they'd accept that. Just call up the US embassy and ask them what is sufficient.
