    One-woman indiepop phenomenon Soda Fountain Rag from Norway - see below for more information - is playing in Whelan's (upstairs) on Monday March 31st. Support comes from local miscreants Michael Knight and So Cow.

    €7 - tickets are available from WAV Tickets in Camden Row or pay at the door on the night.

    Soda Fountain Rag writes subversive pop anthems about bitterness, revenge and the importance of not killing clowns.

    Doors open at 8.15 p.m.

    Free badges and yesboyicecream cd sampler to the first few through the door - which will include tracks by both Irish (Michael Knight, So Cow and Mumbln' Deaf Ró) and international (Jeffrey Lewis, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names, Saint Thomas, The Positions, The Tyde) superstars.

    Soda Fountain Rag's debut album "It's Rag Time!" will be released on April 14th by Dublin's yesboyicecream records, as will Michael Knight's new album "I'm Not Entirely Clear How I Ended Up Like This" (in May).

    BIOGRAPHY

    Soda Fountain Rag is 25 year-old Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist from Bergen in Norway. What began in 2006 as a casual creative outlet from playing drums and violin in Bergen bands The April Skies and Herr Nilsson turned into a cult phenomenon in 2007. Last year saw Soda Fountain Rag introduce her unique anti-folk synthpop through a number of highly-acclaimed (and now sold out!) limited edition cdr releases for labels such as Cloudberry (US), Anorak (France) & MyHoney (Italy) and shows with Jens Lekman, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names and other legends of Scandinavian indiepop. Her debut album "It's Rag Time!" will be released on April 14th by Dublin's yesboyicecream records.
