Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On xp you can just right click the drive go to security and remove the users accounts. For vista i doubt its that much different.

If the second drive is NTFS formatted, you should be able to change the permissions of the folder the files are in for the Users group to no be able to read, change or list the contents of the directory.

Can you move the files you want to to be kept private on drive e into a folder on their own? It would be better than applying a change in permissions to the whole drive IMO.

If it was me after collecting them all into their own folder I would add my own account with full control first as a precaution then remove Authenticated users and users. the Admin group and SYSTEM user should stay.

Im a bit fuzzy on a NTFS permissions nowadays but wouldnt setting a deny permission for modify rights on the hard drive against the USERS group over write all other permissions for every account in the USERS group (ie everyone?)

Safe Mode - Admin Login - Security Tab - Take Ownership.

The Admin login is the main thing. Not sure if safe mode is needed. Assuming vista is similar to xp for this.

/edit - follow this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421 looks like safe mode isn't needed
