    For DSL? Cable? Ripwave? Metro?

What kind of Internet do you have?

    Do you need VPN?

    Do you need WiFi?

Do you need logging (Office or shared house)?

Then it's unlikely your DSL box isn't already a router.

Post the details of model and any issue you have.

You'd want a complete xDSL Modem/Router then if it has a problem, and simply turn off the the inevitable built in WiFi.
