Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Been bored with the x360 for a while - am looking for games for the console in the vein of God of War 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden, Stranglehold, etc

    Any suggestions?

Ninja Gaiden 2 is out soonish, don't think there is much else out though in that vein.
Edit: Maybe Devil May Cry 4?

Gun is kinda similarish (to Stranglehold anyway) it's old though so you may well have played already! good fun!

    Bully? cool game!

    My favourites are

    1. Gears of war - best fighting game ever
    2. Fuels of war - Intense fps
    3. Blazing Angels 2 - it makes me dizzy
    4. Kane and Lynch - Coolest scene i've ever seen in a video game (nightclub)

both grears and fuels of war are the best games on the 360 at the moment, both take a while to master but are well worth the effort....there's nothing like opening some persons chest with a chainsaw before breakfast....it sets me up for the day...:D

Viking: Battle for Asgard is out soon and seems similar. Getting decent reviews too.

Ninja Gaiden Black is currently available for download as an XBox Original title. 1200 MS Points (about €15).

Havent played Gun or Bully - Viking (in the reviews I have been reading) seems only a passable effort

Bully is great fun, especially now that the patch has sorted out it's glitchiness!

Gun is too but as i said it's old! can be got for cheap though!

What about the new Dynasty Warriors 6 game?
I believe you get to take various members of the Carrington family on a murderous rampage across ancient China...

No wait, that can't be right..

Anyway, that could fulfill your hack and slash needs until something else pops up.

Aye I could do with another murderous rampage - oh God of War, how I have forsaken you :(

I assume you still have your PS2, there are loads of great games for it, enough to satisfy your needs I reckon, maybe you need a change in pace, a spot of Ico or Shadow of the Colossus?
I know, how about Shadow of Rome for the PS2 or maybe even a copy of Thief for the Xbox?
Also Heavenly Sword for the PS3?

    aye still have the ps2.

Ico or Shadow of the Colossus - played and cleared - Shadows is one of the finest ps2 games ever!
Shadow of Rome - bloodthristy rampage as a slave in the arena? Yup done that already

    Forgotten about Thief!!!

If you haven't played it I'd heartily recommend Crackdown.

Tis great fun and somewhat similar (if you squint and suspend your disbelief with a snifter of port or two) to stranglehold.

Anyways it's a great game and can be picked up for a couple of shiny pennies in any game store.

Conan is pretty good. Well worth a look if you like God of War.

N3 can probably be gotten for less than a tenner now too, but it's very repetitive.

I recommend Gears Of War. Love that game.

A question from me now: Is Splinter Cell Double Agent worth getting for 15€? I was thinking about getting it as reviews and videos look good. Anyone here play it or have played it? Is the online good?

As a fan, I hated that splinter cell, wasnt my cuppa tae at all, just couldnt get into it for some reason...

for 15 it be worth a look though to see if ya like it?

Splinter Cell is great. One day I will replay it, when I get through my massive back catalog!

I'm a fan of the Splinter Cell series and I liked Double Agent, got it on release. In my opinion its a very good deal at €15. I never really got into the multiplayer side of things though.
