    First time i had a drink was down the back end of nowhere

    However, the first time i had a pint with my father was the night before we wnt to england to look at a university i was considering going to.

    He didnt think i drank, but as i was just turned 18.. i ordered and he paid.

    It was in the pub beside Oliver Gogartys there in temple bar some 12 odd years ago.

    Clearly you've tasted the wrong stuff! Good beer is tasty the first time.

    Can't remember where my first pint was (I'm not counting stubbies of Kronenbourg in France). Probably a pint of Carlsberg* in O'Neills on Pearse St.

    * Don't worry, I grew out of that pretty quick.
