Bit odd with the stadium but anyways...
    Casillias

    Alves Ferdinand Nesta Evra

    Ronaldo Fabregas Iniesta Messi

    Torres Van Nistelrooy

    Subs: Buffon
    Vidic
    Kaka

    Manager: Sir Alex Ferguson

    Stadium: Nou Camp

    GK. - Buffon
    RB. - J. Zanetti
    LB. - Heinze
    CB. - Ferdinand
    CB. - Carvalho
    CM. - Essien
    CM. - Kaka
    RM. - C. Ronaldo
    LM. - Messi
    FW. - Ibrahimovic
    FW. - Van Nistelrooy

Subs - Gallas, Xavi, Tevez, Cech
    Manager - Alex Ferguson :(
    Stadium - Anfield

I know i went a bit crazy with my attacking players and playing kaka as a CM is a bit mad, but it would be a more advanced role with essien doing the dirty work. Messi on the left is also weird i know but cant find another way to get him and ronaldo on the same team in a 442. i could probably replace ibra with someone else but i just love the player, bit of a fan choice for me.
i could just see an opposing team absolutely wetting their pants against those 5 attacking players tho.

in defence i decided to go for experience over anything else. all those defenders have played at the highest level and have a sh1t load of experience. they would work well as a unit and is the most solid back 4 i could think of. buffon also sort of picks himself although there are plenty of other great keepers out there.

I wouldn't choose 4-4-2 myself, mainly because it'd be easier to choose a team with 4-3-3!:p

    Anyway, mine would be:

    GK: Casillas

DR: Zanetti (still has it and Alves hasn't been the best this season)
    DL: Evra
    DC: Ferdinand
DC: Vidic (Ferdinand is a dead cert and he plays better with an aggressive centre-half. United bias means that Vidic gets the nod ahead of Terry and Nesta.)

    MR: Ronaldo
    ML: Messi
MC: Mascherano (mainly because the other 3 are so attacking and need someone to do all the defensive work. Pains me to leave Xavi out!:()
    MC: Iniesta

    FW: Torres
    FW: Luis Fabiano

As for whoever mentioned Marquez; he's 4th choice centre-half at Barça!

    Manager: Alex Ferguson

    Stadium: Camp Nou

Someone mentioned Ibrahimovic and he is awful.

Most his goals have been penos.

Well Xavi ain't the tallest and we do want to win games so I spoke with the lads and they decided to allow one 'outsider' in for nets duty.

Maicon, Alves, Ramos, Sagna are great right backs.

Cole, Evra, Abidal are great left backs.

Theres also some great up and coming talent like Fabio, Marcelo, De Silvestri etc.

Sorry but I can't agree on Abidal. He's so average it's unbelievable. I'd rather have Sylvinho for Barca than him.

I don't really think any of those listed are 'great' tbh. Good definitely but not in the same class as your Cafus and your Maldinis.

Maicon has been phenomenal in Serie for two years straight. He was so good that Inter couldn't find an excuse to drop him for Grosso at the time, a national hero, therefore increasing there least favourite club status. There was a time around November 2006 when Inter were looking for an excuse to drop him but couldn't find one. He's a better left back then Xavi anyway :)

Only cause Xavi's right footed. Other than that Maicon wouldn't be a patch on him :)

I never said the likes of Maicon weren't good players. They just aren't currently great, as NekkidBibleMan pointed out.

And I want the stadium Schalke 04 in Germany use.

Glad to amuse. You have Ramos, Alves, Bufon, Benzema in ur team. I could have added these, but I haven't seen enough of them, so i went with what i know. Had a feeling someone would object to their inclusion, but I'd say half the folk here are going on reputation rather than actuially witnessing their consistent greatness. I think Richards is young, quick, a great reader of the game and a future great. Petrov would be great to have on the bench to inject real pace down the flank, especially when the right back has been dealing with Messi and Ronaldo for 60 mins. I'm sure there are better options, but I'm not just picking someone based on the words that are written about them. I personally think Gerrard is highly overated, and his talent vastly exagerated. If i was picking a team based on other peoples opinions though, he'd be in the team. however, I'm not, I'm basing the team on what i know.
Actually, I fogot about Lahm. I'd likely put him in instead of Richards, though I haven't seen him this season.
