Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    OK session. I'm kind of confused what to do with my training at the moment. Did 4x8 on the bench today but just didn't feel it.

    Going to cut out the seated db presses. I've been having some shoulder problems recently and they all started when I introduced them to my routine. Co-incidence, I think not.

    Relatively high reps on the deadlifts. The last 2-3 reps were really tough in all sets. I'd say my form wasn't pretty in the last few reps either.

    Anywho did some power cleans tonight for the first time. This Olympics has really gotten to me. Took it light tonight. I want to get my form solid on these before putting any more plates on the bar.

    I was wrecked after these two exercises so the rest of the session was a bit of a drag:o

    I'm expecting to walk into TF next week and see EVERYONE doing power cleans.

    Just a quick tip tho, don't go tryng to use 12's. You're much better with 3's and 5's. The chance that you're using good form for a set of 12 is quite minimal. You'd probably be better trying to do 6 or 8 sets of 3 instead with shorter rests!

    Did a lot of full cleans tonight with just the oly bar too on my rest sets. I'm trying to really get my body to really recognise the movement so that when I start putting weight on the bar I will be as efficient as possible.

    Last night

    Kickboxing 1 hour 40 mins

    Good session. Starting to get a bit of confidence back after my sprained toe debacle. The training itself was great. We did lots of belt runs, which I always enjoy but liked even more after watching the athletics particularlly Mr. Bolt. Sparring went fine.

    I was 20 minutes late for training because I was inspecting my new house. I've decided to fly from the nest and move out of home (for the first time too!:eek:). I'm also changing jobs in the next two weeks too. Hopefully, these big changes won't impact on my training too much. However, I'm really more worried about having to start cooking for myself and washing my own clothes.:o

    Had some DOMS in my calfs for some bizarre reason. I have to say I got up feeling like crap this morning - I feel OK now though. Hopefully, I have a decent training session at the gym tonight.

    Jeez. Messed that bench up today. First three sets @ 84kg were for 5 reps. I had planned to grind out 6 on these babys. It didn't happen. Then I got my form sorted in the last set and hit the 6 with ease. I may have even had seven in the bag. Lesson learned: get form right in warmup sets.

    Only got six reps in the milirary press in the 3rd set. Hit the 8 up in the last set. Lesson learned: concentrate.

    Rest of the session was OK.

    Spent the first hour trying to balance performing as hard as I could without puking. I think I did OK. Started to feel good at the end of the session. I was like "lets get it on," and then we were finished before I could layeth the smacketh down on some candy a$$es!

    -84kgs black belt -Knocked out in first round. Not a good fight, nothing seemed to come off for me.
    -94kgs black belt -2nd place. Much better. Happy with the way I fought in this section.

    I've decided to give a Sheiko program a try for the next 5 weeks. Hopefully I'll see some decent strength and size gains from it. During this time I hope to get 2 nights of kickboxing training.

The first rep was fine but I couldn't get the bar up for the second one. The fifth set I did at 82.5 x2. It was fine and bar speed was good so I loaded up the 88kg for the 6th set. I failed again or so I think. The first rep was fine but the second rep stuck again. I didn't get the chance to see if I could grind the rep out because the "spotter," immediately grabbed the bar. I doubt I would of got it though.

    3.Flat dumbbells “flies”10Х5 (22kg)

    4.Push ups on the floor with weight (hands shoulders wider) 10Х5 (25lb)

    I didn't really enjoy this one. I burnt the hand off myself last night cooking, The skin is blistering and it made deadlifting really tough. Hands and grip strength are very under rated. Still I made all the lifts pretty easy - a light session IMO.

    You don't do Sheiko - Sheiko does you. Holy crap. There was so many sets today that I didn't want to do. However, I sucked it up and I'm happy I did. I'm pretty wiped now.

    Aside: Haven't weighed myself in a few weeks but I look like I've packed on some lbs in my chest/shoulder region. Eating a lot as well too - not always clean either - but nothing ain't wobbling so its all good. :)

    6.Leg Raises 15x3

    And that is the end of Sheiko.:) It took about 3 weeks to actually adjust to the shear volume of the sessions. In the last week it was handy enough. Squat and deadlift really feel strong. I'm thinking about switching back to a 5x5 for the next month or two.....
