You lot should be so jealous :)

I'm at that happiest of happy places the start of the series. I've just ordered series 1 to 3 intend to watch them back to back having seen about 6 episodes out of the series in total. I've been assured I'll love them.

I just felt you should know.

Enjoy your ride through the wormhole. Please enhale before entering and ensure that all seats and tray tables are in their upright and locked positions and that all firearms are sufficiently loaded with 4.57mm FN callibre rounds :)

Please ensure all Staff and Zat Nyk'ytyl weapons are charged before going on a suicide mission. And as always, "Jaffa Kriee".

And ffs dont open your mouth and wear a thick scarf.

My advice: Stop watching SG1 at the end of season 8; it jumps the shark after that. Stargate Atlantis is introduced at that point anyway, so you'll still have Stargate to watch.

Actually, it jumps the shark during season 8, but you might as well see the story finished off. Seasons 9 and 10 are basically a new show, and a poor one at that.

    I wasnt aware SG-1 had a 9th and 10th season. Last I heard
    everyone went fishing.

Season 8 was phoned in by RDA but it was still good enough. 9 & 10 were a bit of a disaster, poor quality. I wouldn't say it jumped the shark, the cast changes coupled with a poor storyline fooked it up.

9 & 10 have their moments where you think "classic": theres either some good action or humour involved, but its few and far between and its riddled with holes and cheapery. You have to view it as a spin-off.

I enjoyed 9 & 10 but I do believe it would have been better to have kicked it off as "Stargate Command" (as was planned) and let it sit outside of SG1. It was too different to what went before and didn't always sit comfortably.

9 and 10 are ok, but not great. i did like the 200th episode though :D

9 & 10(I have them anyway for completeness ;)) always struck me as a couple of seasons too far. It was if they were making it up as they went along and that they were surprised to find themselves with yet another season. I reckon the "longest-running Sci-Fi show" had more to do with that and it held up its numbers well enough to get there.

The multiplicity of Ba'al provide some amusement but IMO the Ori with the all of the associated sleep inducing Arthurian story lines and that damned village set were onto a loser. "All bow down or we'll do something really really bad".

I personally took to very little of it and was not overfond of the new additions to the team, Vala in particular. There are a couple of decent episodes in it, 200 is worth a special mention but I'd say 1-7 are far more representative of all that was good in SG-1.

the whole ori arc seemed to convoluted for my liking. it seems like it was tacked on at the end. the lack of richard dean anderson was also regretable, but he's nearly 60 now.
