    Greyhound looks very sad. :(

Mainly because we'd been playing with him & he got a bit confused when I kept pointing a camera at him instead of keeping up the play :D Definitely gonna get me a greyhound when I'm older & have the space, they're such sweet dogs.

i'm no good at producing shots like that. i always drop the brightness for saturation. which wouldn't suit it.

cheers - it's an (i think) myrtle tree trunk, taken in the bamboo park in glengarriff.

Love that shot. Was only thinking of how much I'd love to take some photos in a bamboo forest/park after watching the shogun docu-series on bbc.

First time in 7 years I've not moved out of the way fast enough. Taken as the wheel was buzzing off the petal hood on my lens. No glass was damaged while making this.

That's incredible! Is it ps or real!?

For a given value of real.

The piano is real. The background is some satin I happen to have lying around for this and other purposes. Piano sat on an upside bowl. The photograph was shot with a 40D and the 17-85 lens at a 30sec exposure at f29 in near darkness (light from computer screen and windows basically. During the time I fired a flash three or four times. Original file is RAW.

    The processing was:

    1) curves
    2) black and white layer
    3) some of the satin background was messed about with using the smudge tool
    4) I think there was a levels adjustment too but I don't have the PSD to hand so I can't check.
    5) cropped to near square

I'd venture to say that the answer to the question "is it real" is yes but that's by my definition.

I know that quoting with pictures is no longer allow, but this one is a bit back, I missed it. So, I'm hoping that its ok this time as I have a question (to show which I refer to). If anybody objects, speak up and i'll remove, no problem at all

    Thanks Calina!

I see it now that it's only wee... I had thought it a lifesize piano digitally mucked about or perhaps a sculpture!

    :o

Great shot... I love things that require me to look closer :)

Bushbaby in frankfurt zoo, taken with a 350d, using nifty 50 at 1600iso and 1/6th of a second exposure! with no tripod!

It's just way to dark for me, if there was some light shining through the glass pieces i think it would be a lot better. Perhaps retake it and show us how ya get on?

Very cool, love the expression on whatever that animal is' face. It's hard to get good pictures of animals, at least it is for me, so I'm very impressed.

Taken close to Lough Gur last weekend. Who would have thought the tint on the windows of my friends car would make for such an interesting filter?
