I like this, it's a nice little observation. I might play around with distortion a bit to make it more symmetrical vertically and horizontally. But that's just me. It might also look gack.

With a lot of shots.

I was using 50mm lens, f/2.8, 1/1600, manual focus.

I picked the point where most drops were hitting. Focused on the ground, waited for when a drop was falling and hit a burst of 4 frames.

I think just at that spot, I took about 60 frames, where 4 were good with splashes.

Totally uncontrolled environment.

Took the 40D out for its first outing to the Curragh today and uploading shots (without processing) at the moment.

But this has to be the best dressed photographer I have ever seen on wet and muddy racecourse (ok I am suffering from lens envy as well!!)

I would think that's Caroline Norris, I've met her once or twice, she's a friend of a friend. A full time racing photographer.

LOL you know you have the photography bug bad when you fancy their lens

The most amazing thing about her is the fact she didn't get a speck of mud on those boots, because there were lots of showers!

Damn I wish I had one of those L lens today. The old Sigma 70-300mm tried admirably today but I think I have now got the justification to save for an L lens now I got the 40D
