Nanjing don't own Rover, they own some of the designs and not the name.

    Missing the extensive Fiat-GM links.

It's not completely up to date, granted. And some artistic licence was used, like it's easier to put down the Rover badge to represent Rover's assets.

    Ford owns the Rover name.

I read recently that Renault have either taken or are about to take a significant and possibly controling stake in Lada.

Fiat and GM split. Fiat still supply some of their diesel engines though.

I know (Fiat head...). But the chart has most other engine supply deals marked on it.

As goes Rover, the thing is they've got the assets mostly under the wrong company! SAIC not NAC own them...

Nope, Nanjing (NAC) owns almost everything.

SAIC own the Rover 75 designs only.

Seems to be lacking regarding Eastern Europe. Lada is just a brand of AvtoVAZ, and there's also UkrAVTO (Ukraine) who seem to be working with GM, FSO (Poland) who seemed to become somewhat independant after the fall of Daewoo (though apparently still working with GM too), and probably a good few others.

Also, the Indian companies like Hindustan and Maruti. Actually, there's probably hundreds of manufacturers not in there when I think about it!

Tut, tut! Iran has loads of domestic makes aswell, none of which are on it.

I can't see it above, but does Honda have a stake in Suzuki??
I had a '03 civic a few years ago and the amount of interior resemblances (switches, dash plastics etc) and driving characteristics (the really weak clutch) with the Girlfriend's current Swift is uncanny....
Maybe its just because they both Japanese?

Isn't there still a link between GM-Daewoo and Ssangyong?

    You need new glasses.

However those links have been dissolved for about 2 or 3 years...

Also, isn't there an link also between Suzuki and Subaru (given that the Suzuki Swift/Ignis is the same as the Subaru Justy). I know that GM did own Subaru until a few years ago, but there is still some sort of joint venture link between the two.

Subaru was founded by Fuji Heavy Industries in 1954. It was never owned by GM.

Suzuki does not own part of Subaru, and Subaru does not own part of Suzuki.
does Honda have a stake in Suzuki??
    No.

GM-Daewoo link is shown. Ssangyong are not connected.

EDIT: I looked up all this in wikipedia! If I can, you can ;)

GM owned 20% of Fuji Industries until 2005.

Still stands that GM never owned Subaru.

Nissan owned a 20% stake from 1968 to 1999, sold it to GM, who sold it again in 2005.

    What about Ford?

    What about Ford?
    Ford never owned Subaru either.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Nice stuff!

Is anybody up for setting up /copying that schema, taking ownership of it and keeping it up to date?

If so, I'll include a link to it in the sticky

As others said, there are inaccuracies and it is out of date a bit. The one thing that I spotted straight off is that BMW no longer uses the Toyota diesel engine in the MINI

A short lived relationship that spawned this. Thankfully they never saw fit to sell it outside the US.
