Using Wireless Access Point as a client

    I have two wireless access points connected from one building to another. The link is working fine, I can connect to the internet wirelessly on both APs depending on which building I am in.

    However, rather than connecting to the second AP wirelessly, I'd like to be able to connect wired devices to it. The AP has only one ethernet port.
    If I set this AP in client mode, and connect it to say an 8 port switch - will that work ? I.e. can an Access Point in Client Mode support more than one device ?

    This is the set up I'm trying to achieve.

    Building 1 - Internet <-> LAN <-> Wireless Access point <--wireless link to building 2-- ....

    Building 2 --wireless link to building 1--> Wireless Access Point in Client Mode <-> Switch <-> Wired Clients

    I won't need wireless access in building 2.

    Appreciate any feedback

    Pretty much what I used at home then. I've wired clients going into a wireless router which is in client bridge mode to another wireless router.

    Thanks for the reply.

    So does your wireless router already have an ethernet switch built in i.e. with 4 ports or whatever ? It's going from my access point's only ethernet port to the switch that concerns me but I'll get to try it out next week.

    In my case it does, though a simple switch shouldn't interfere with things.
