    Hey all,

Getting our bathroom updated a bit in the next few months and was thinking of getting our bath panel tiled same as the walls. Just wondering if any of you have gotten this done before and if it's a lot of extra expense? Also wondering about access to the plumbing if the panel is tiled over. Have no clue about these things - would a tiler tile a bath panel or do you have to get some specialist to do it??

Sorry for all the questions - any info would be greatly appreciated.

i put a mosaic on my bath panel, just stuck up some ply with a screw in each corner,i have little more then grout holding in the tile thats covering each screw so if i ever need to take the panel off i can just cut away the grout with a stanley and remove the whole panel without breaking any tiles
another way to do it if your using bigger tiles is to cut a hole (at the end where the taps and trap are) in the ply about 20mm smaller then the tile all round then just use the minimum amount of adhesive and grout as normal

Im right in the middle of doing this (well have been for about 6 months now :) )
I built a small frame out of 2x3 and 1x2 for the 9mm ply to sit against.
While doing this I noticed that there is a load of room underneath the back of the bath so I am attempting to put in a drawer here.
The plan is to make a drawer with a front the same size as a tile so a full tile will open and close (they are big tiles)
At the other end I will have a panel about 2 foot long that will be screwed to the frame. This can be removed for access to the taps/drains etc.
I will just cover the screw heads with those plastic covers...

    Wish me luck :)
