Help, what is happening with my DSL bandwidth usage?

I'm on Digiweb's 3MB DSL package, 40GB cap for up and down combined.

It's generally fine but last night it was timing out on all webpages and generally didn't work. So I went to bed after turning off the power to the router, hoping it would be back to normal today.
The router was powered off from about 2am until 1pm today.

I checked my email today and had received an automated email from Digiweb support saying I was over the allowance.

I check my usage page and here's the info:

I've used 25GB in the last 24 hours???

Here's the usage graph for the last 30 days:

26GB's used on 28th February?? The numbers and days when the bandwidth was used don't match up.

For the record I haven't raped my cap with downloads or uploads, I've always been very careful to stay at around 30GB usage of my 40GB cap every 30 days. I definitely have not used 51GB in the last 30 days. Or 25GB inthe last 24 hours!

I'm not on a wireless connection, there's a direct cable from the back of my PC to the router at the phone socket.
I've obviously emailed Digiweb support to see what they say but I'd like to get advice here too.
