Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    From Sky News:

Two Victims Of Private Jet Crash Named

    Updated:22:04, Sunday March 30, 2008

Two of the victims of a private jet crash that destroyed a home in Kent have been named as David Leslie and Richard Lloyd.

Both men were well-known in the world of motorsport.

They were killed when the small plane they were travelling in sent a mayday call before nose-diving into two homes.

"There was a massive hole in the roof of the house, you can see where it went through," said Karl Mills, who saw the incident.

The private Cessna Citation 501 aircraft hit Broadwater Gardens, a residential area in Farnborough, entirely destroying one house.

Jim Bascran of the London Fire Brigade said "No survivors were found but I can confirm that there were no people found in the houses."

Metropolitan Police spokesman Bob Broadhurst said work would begin on Monday to remove the dead bodies and added that no more could be said until the next of kin had been contacted.

Sad news indeed. Had the pleasure of meeting him and chatting briefly with him at Mondello Park a few years ago when he was driving for Proton in the BTCC. Really nice guy. I also enjoyed his commentary on the WTCC on Eurosport alongside Martin Haven. Very articulate and very good at explaining the technical aspects of racing a touring car. He also had a very dry, wry sense of humour which always came across well in his commentaries.

He'll be very sadly missed. R.I.P.

    Thats horrrible news. RIP David.

/OT the 501 is an older aircraft, wonder what happened? Time will tell no doubt, tragic on many levels.

Was only reading about that crash in todays paper. No mention of who the people on board were but heard later on the radio that two well known racing car drivers were on board.

Another sad day for the motorsport community.:(

Thoughts go out to all families involved.

Only heard the news this evening, what a tragedy.

I had the pleasure of meeting David Leslie at Knockhill circuit in July 2004 and had the honour of being taken for a lap of the circuit at high speed in a production car by him. A moment that will live with me for ever.

RIP - To all involved in the crash and their families.

Leslie is another sad loss to Scottish motorsport, so soon after Colin McRae. I suppose we should at least be thankful that both the houses were unoccupied at the time.
