Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They're really pointless since they void your warranty so if you do end up getting RRoD, you can't do anything about it except get a new one.

I watercooled 1 of my xbox 360s recently. It's still not entirely finished. I disabled 1 of the fans but have not run it since. Will power it up later today to see what effect it had.

Its something ive wanted to do for a good while now.. Even if you did void you warranty, 360's are so cheap now that if you did buy a new one it would probably be a better made one and you a get another controller

Also I dont see how watercooling it could give you the rrod, if anything it would make it last longer.. Did any of you watch the videos of him comparing the difference with and without watercooling 75 fahrenheit with and over a 100 fahrenheit with out..

So basically 21 degrees - 37 thats a major improvment.

Also your xbox will look cool lol

    too much effort tbh.

i thought the whole point of a console was so you didn't need to overclock to play new games and tbh watercooling is only really for overclocking.

    also a waste of money

    you buy xbox360
    you buy watercooling kit
if you foobar your 360 you have to get a new one, imagine you foobar that new installation.

i'd rather just sit and wait for the RROD with extra 500 euro in my pocket thankyou

I doubt it would cost 500 now.. even top of the range ones for PC's dont cost that much unless its all custom parts.. you could get a nice kit for about 200 - 300

    EDIT: http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=329

theres one I found thats a complete system

and you cant say you wouldnt like one of these!!

    That's nuts!

It's a lot of hardware just for the Xbox. May as well just get a PC for the hassle and expense of that.

no, what i meant was you buy your watercooling; average watercooling kit is 200-250 euro. you then if you **** it up and have to buy a new xbox that's another 280 euro, i'd rather just buy one xbox and run the risk of getting rrod but i'll be at least safe in the knowledge that microsoft will replace it.

ohh and i forgot, i'd still be able to use the xbox just like i would if it was watercooled as well, just i'd save money.

Right on, i agree its a waste. Plus it wouldnt fit into my shelf.

Why or why? Sure the games are made for the stock xbox360 so what difference does it make if you cool them down?

If the xbox 360 overheats or a game doesn't play without modification then you can just bring the xbox back and get one that does play fine.

Wow - that watercooled one is sooo quiet. You can barely hear the Xbox over the trickling liquid cooler. I guess you'd really want to pee listening to that all the time :D

Ok, I get it now its so you can turn off the XBOX360 fan and just use a water cooler instead. Would consider putting one into an xbox original if they were available and not too expensive. Bloody loud fans - even turned down to 10% via xbmc.

Much easier to fit a 80mm quiet fan.

Get primer, prime it.. any paint of your color, paint it... then I had this lacquer(spelling) stuff to make it shiny..

I just used ordinary car body spray paint!:pac:

Sweet man, i'm gonna do that to mine, i don't really give a crap about the warranty, I do however want a cooler looking 360 under my tv.

    Is the primer absolutely necessary?

    Cheers! :)

Haha the first one i thought was a little bit pointless and if one of those pipes burst your xbox goes bye bye.

However in the second video the person had the right idea hehe a bit of common sense

I used the fan for a long time and still do.. but now since my warranty is gone the case is half open with the fan blowing on it lol

Did you take the case off and spray it that way or what?

I got a can of Plasti-kote matt black spray in the end, didn't bother with primer, the results are fantastic and i wouldn't even consider myself good with a spray can. It's very hard to scratch the paint off as well (I tried!)

Yeah, you should take off the case, if you don't know how it's easy enough if you browse t'internet!
