hi, i'm looking a buying an old cottage in the west to do up over time in the region of 60-70k. my bank (band of ireland) have told me their minimum mortage is 100k. Does anyone have any advice/experience of this type of situation? cheers, Jack

Shop around.

Assuming it needs doing up, spend the difference between €70,000 and €100,000 on it.
