Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Firstly it works fine with a USB cable.

I follow the following procedures to connect and synchronize to Windows Vista using Bluetooth.

    On the PC
Click Start, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, click Bluetooth Devices. If your PC does not have built-in Bluetooth, make sure your USB Bluetooth adapter is attached.

    Click the Options tab.

Select the Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer check box.

    Click OK.

    On the device
If you have never attached your device to the PC using a USB cable, do so. After Windows Mobile Device Center starts, disconnect the device.

In ActiveSync, click or tap Menu, then click or tap Connect via Bluetooth.

When asked if you would like to set up a partnership, click or tap Yes.

    Note:
On some devices, you may have to click or tap Add new device.

When the name of the PC appears in the list, select it and click Next.

Enter a passcode when prompted, then click Next.

    On the PC
When prompted that a Bluetooth device is attempting to connect with the PC, click To allow this connection, click this message.

In the Add Bluetooth Device wizard, enter the same passcode that you entered on your device, then click Next.

At this point I get the message Your Smartphone did not connect with BENQ. The connection failed or the passkey is incorrect.

Any suggestions? Do I need to manually do something with COM ports?

IT turned out to be partly a Vista issue. When the phone is detected by the PC there are 4 ? in the device manager beside unknown devices.

I went through each of these in turn and updated the driver. You have to point to the WINDOWROOT/system32 directory and Vista then somehow identifies the correct bluetooth component.

Finally I created a new incoming port of the XDA (com 6), the corresponding outgoing port (com 6) was created automatically for the pc.

At this point I was able to pair the two devices together and finally synch.
